Akron Dish: Local milk and mustard on store shelves

ORIGIN Milk is now available at Acme Fresh Markets and other area stores. The company, headquartered in Strongsville, uses only milk from Guernsey cows (on farms in Holmes County). Guernsey cow milk has a yellow tinge and is particularly creamy and has a higher protein, fat and vitamin content, as well as more calcium, than typical milk.

It reminded me of the milk from my grandmother’s cow in Romania. So pure and so rich,” said ORIGIN founder Adrian Bota, recalling when he first tasted the milk, produced from Guernsey cows that foraged freely on a small Amish farm in Holmes County.
